Taking a boat

Seal Rocks are a group of small rocky islands 1.5 kilometres from the Nobbies. To undertake research, scientists need to get to Seal Rocks. They go out in a boat with a powerful outboard motor. From this, they launch a small dingy to go ashore. They can only go to Seal Rocks when the weather is calm. In bad weather, it is difficult to launch the dingy and scientists can not land safely on the rocks.

When the scientists arrive at Seal Rocks they must climb out of the boat into knee deep water and carry all their equipment ashore.
